My name is Leonard Tengco and I am currently a second-year law student at Michigan State University College of Law. If you are interested in having me work on your personal website or you want to send me unnecessary chain letters, please do not hesitate in sending me an email. I will reply to you at my earliest convenience.

Working with Judge Bobby Peters in the summer of 2005 was perhaps one of the most enlightening experiences in my life. I started the clerkship—or internship, depending upon who you ask—not knowing what I wanted to do with my life. Obviously, I was going to be a lawyer. But which path was I going to take? Seldom does anyone have the opportunity to work with someone as dynamic, inspiration, and funny as Judge Peters.

If I learned anything from this truly unique and funny individual, it is that I need to follow my heart and always do what is right. This is an important lesson that many young lawyers may look upon as an easily dismissable cliche for the short-sighted. Judge Peters would often look at me and sarcastically quip, "It's not about the money," but his latent message rang deaf in my ear: it is about the money, but it shouldn't be. It is about doing good for others. It is about sticking up for those who can't stick up for themselves. It is about using what you have for the benefit of those who you love and care about. Because of these important lessons he taught me, I volunteered to create this website for him.
